It's official, and it's live. The two hardest-to-book bars at Walt Disney World — The Beak and Barrel at Magic Kingdom and GEO-82 at EPCOT — have both added the Walk-Up Waitlist feature in the My Disney Experience app. If you've spent months losing the reservation race, this is the news you've been waiting for.

What changed

We flagged this a couple of days ago when a "Join Walk-Up List" button quietly appeared on Beak and Barrel's app page without being active. It's now switched on — and GEO-82 got it too. That means you can add your party to a waitlist from the app while you're already in the park, rather than needing an Advance Dining Reservation booked well in advance.

Why this is a big deal

These two bars have been the toughest tables on property since they opened. Beak and Barrel — the Pirates of the Caribbean tavern in Adventureland — and GEO-82, the 21+ lounge hidden inside Spaceship Earth, both see their reservations vanish the moment they drop. A walk-up list won't magically create seats, but it opens the door for the enormous number of guests who could never win the booking race in the first place. If you're standing in Adventureland at 3 PM wondering if you can get in, now you can at least ask.

The reservation lottery was never a great system for a walk-in cocktail. This fixes the part that actually annoyed people.

How to use it

Set expectations accordingly: both venues are small and run tight seating windows — Beak and Barrel caps parties at 45 minutes with a two-drink limit — so the list can fill fast and close early on busy days. Join it early in your park day rather than late, and have a backup plan. Advance reservations still exist and remain the surest route if you can land one.

Worth noting the difference between the two if you're deciding: Beak and Barrel welcomes all ages, while GEO-82 is 21 and over.
