Starlit Magic ("we," "our," or "us") is made by AliKat Digital. This policy explains what information the Starlit Magic app and the starlitmagic.com website collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Information the App Collects
- An app account ID: The first time you open Starlit Magic, the app creates an anonymous account ID so features like Park Trivia stats work. No name or email is attached to it.
- Sign in with Apple (optional): If you choose to sign in, we also store the display name you choose and the email address Apple shares with us. Apple lets you hide your real email behind a private relay address.
- Notifications: If you allow notifications, we store a device token so notifications can reach your phone. Trip and booking reminders are scheduled on your device.
- App usage: We use Google Firebase Analytics to see how the app is used, such as which screens are opened, the app version, your device type and your approximate region, plus a few events like viewing the Premium screen or completing a purchase. This information is tied to a random app ID, not to your name or email, and is only collected in the App Store version of the app.
- Your location: Maps can show where you are in the parks. Your location is used on your device to place you on the map and is not sent to us.
2. What Stays on Your Device or in Your iCloud
- Your trips, trip deadlines, reminders, check-offs and app settings are stored on your device.
- Your Storybook entries and photos, and your custom map pins, sync through your own private iCloud account. We cannot see them.
3. What We Do NOT Do
- No third-party advertising networks
- No selling or sharing of your personal information for advertising or marketing
- No tracking you across other companies' apps or websites
- No collecting your location on our servers
4. How We Use Information
Information we collect is used only to:
- Provide the features of Starlit Magic, such as your account, Park Trivia stats and notifications
- Understand which features are used, so we can improve the app and the website
- Keep our services secure and protect them from abuse
- Respond to messages you send us
5. In-App Purchases
Starlit Magic Premium is available as a one-time in-app purchase at $12.99 (USD). All purchases are processed exclusively by Apple through the App Store. AliKat Digital does not collect or store your payment information. For refund requests, please use Apple's standard App Store refund process within 14 days of purchase.
6. The starlitmagic.com Website
- Visit statistics: We count visits with Umami, which runs on our own server, and with Cloudflare Web Analytics. Neither uses cookies. They record things like the pages viewed, the site that sent you, your device type and your country, so we can see which pages are helpful. Umami counts unique visitors using a one-way code that changes every month and cannot be used to identify you.
- Hosting: The website is delivered through Cloudflare. Like most websites, our server and Cloudflare keep standard technical logs, such as IP addresses, to keep the site secure and running.
- Email: If you email us, we use your email address and message only to reply to you.
7. Data Retention and Deletion
You can delete your account at any time directly from within the app - one tap, no support email required. Deleting your account removes your account ID and the information stored with it (your display name, email address, notification token and Park Trivia stats) from our servers within 30 days. App usage statistics are not linked to your name or email and are kept by Google under its standard retention settings. Information on your device and in your iCloud stays under your control: deleting the app removes what is stored on your device, and you can manage your iCloud data in your iPhone's Settings.
8. Children's Privacy
Starlit Magic is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at [email protected] and we will delete it promptly.
9. Third-Party Services
Starlit Magic uses the following services to deliver its features:
- Apple: Sign in with Apple, iCloud, App Store purchases and notification delivery, governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
- Google Firebase: the app account ID (Authentication), the account record and Park Trivia stats (Cloud Firestore), usage statistics (Analytics), notifications (Cloud Messaging), and protection against abuse (App Check), governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
- ThemeParks.wiki: live wait times and park hours. We do not send it any personal information.
- Open-Meteo: park weather. Requests use park locations, not yours.
- Umami and Cloudflare: website visit statistics and hosting, as described in section 6.
10. Security
We use industry-standard security practices to protect your data, including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS) and secure server infrastructure. No system is 100% secure, but we take reasonable precautions to protect your information.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the effective date above. Continued use of the app or website after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. Material changes will be communicated via in-app notice.
